Univ.-Prof. Dipl.-Wirt.-Inf. Dr. Stefan Thalmann
He is professor for business analytics and data science at the University of Graz. Prof. Thalmann is the director of the Center for Business Analytics and Data Science and leads the Information Systems group of the Institute for Operations and Information Systems. Stefan Thalmann holds a habilitation degree (venia legendi), a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the Universtity of Innsbruck and a master’s degree in information systems from the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. During his academic career, he was employed at the Martin-Luther-University of Halle-Wittenberg (Germany), Graz University of Technology (Austria), the University of Innsbruck (Austria), the Free University of Bolzano (Italy) and the FH Kufstein (Austria). He worked as AREA manager for the Pro2Future GmbH and as senior researcher for the Know-Center GmbH. Further, he was a visiting researcher at the Learning Technology Research Institute of the London Metropolitan University (UK) and at the Information Technology Research Institute of the University of Jyväskylä (Finland).
Prof. Thalmann´s research interests include Business Analytics, Data Driven Decision Support, Adoption and Auditing of AI, Explainable AI and Knowledge Protection.
